For what reason they decide to do modeling for teen photography sites?
I'm not talking about worthless pornstars or professional supermodels or porn amateurs. I'm talking about beautiful models of teen photography sites such as Met-Art, Femjoy, Hegre-Art and Domai. These girls are really beautiful (photoshopping is not the case) and look innocent. So is there any horrible fact behind this type of modeling? For what reason these girls decide to do modeling for these sites?

- JUST for Money? How much?
- Because they really want? (as site owners claim)
- They are forced to do that for any reason?
Why should there be any "horrible fact" behind them modelling??

A lot of these models do it because they enjoy it and don't have any hang ups about nudity and showing their bodies - the money obviously helps but the pay is not great.
What are some great stores in Manhattan (Upper East Side)?
I want some that have reasonable prices at a walking distance from the met (metropolitan museum of art). For teens, most likely. Good denim and cute dresses. Thank you!

Non adoption related art and how we see in in relation to adoption?
Poe was brought up in another question and this got me thinking a bit. As a teen I was infatuated with Poe and until recently I had no clue he was an adoptee. There is one poem that has always stuck in my mind and been close to my heart, Eldorado.

El Dorado is often described as an incredible, wealthy, mythical South American city. In fact the myth originated with El Dorado being a king who covered himself in gold dust then dove into a mountain lake. I always saw El Dorado as a person, long sought but always just out of reach, not unlike the family I longed for but had no way to find as a youth.

As an adoptee it makes me wonder what Poe was thinking as he wrote it. Today it makes me wonder what pieces of art have helped others through adoption or have made them think of it even when the intent was not adoption related.

What story, poem, painting, picture etc. that has no obvious adoption connection resonates in your soul and makes you think of your own adoption story?

Eldorado

Gaily bedight,
A gallant knight,
In sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search of Eldorado.

But he grew old-
This knight so bold-
And o'er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado.

And, as his strength
Failed him at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow-
"Shadow," said he,
"Where can it be-
This land of Eldorado?"

"Over the Mountains
Of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride,"
The shade replied-
"If you seek for Eldorado!"

Edgar Allan Poe
From guyhood's hour I have not been
As others were - I have not seen
As others saw - I could not bring
My passions from a common spring -
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow - I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone -
And all I loved - I loved alone -
Then - in my guyhood, in the dawn
Of a most stormy life - was drawn
From every depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still -
From the torrent, or the fountain -
From the red cliff of the mountain -
From the sun that round me rolled
In its autumn tint of gold -
From the lightning in the sky
As it pass'd me flying by -
From the thunder and the storm -
And the cloud that took the form
When the rest of Heaven was blue
Of a demon in my view. -

ETA: This is the poem that sprang to mind when I mentioned Poe in another question. I remember the first time I read it. I connected instantly. Others seemed to think it was, shall we say, dark. Maybe even indicating Poe was a lil' crazy. Even in the interpretation of this poem, I didn't see what they saw. All I saw was that he was affected by a tragedy that caused him to see everything differently than those around him.
Hey R&P! Have You Ever Met/Known Anyone Who Has Completely Blown Your Mind With Their Knowledge Of Music?
I have a very good friend from Germany who did just this to me last night! We stayed up until the wee hours talking 'Metal' and googling/youtubing recommendations (after a quite awesome KMFDM gig ;) ... and couldn't believe some of the stuff she was showing me... i thought i more or less 'knew' my metal... but she blew me out of the water!
She was a teen in the old East Germany and was telling me about her days tape-trading, as decent LP's were hard to come by before the wall came down... and i was frankly in awe of the stuff she was pulling out of the hat!

Have you ever met or known someone that has made you seriously rethink what you thought you knew about music? .. or has a vast and amazing knowledge of this beautiful art form?

here are some choice nuggets... all 'metal' lol... (she showed me a bunch of cool punk bands too, but that's for another day... ;)

awesome stuff!

BQ: Do you know any of these bands i've posted? Which is your favourite?

BQ2: post a clip of a tune (any genre) you think the world may not have heard... and should hear!
Yes, over the years I've met a few persons within the music industry (of which I spent many years working as well)...radio personalities...recording engineers...musicians...obsessive collectors at record shows, etc...that have an astounding knowledge encompassing many genres.
A few persons right here in R&P (including yourself), really surprise me from time to time with their knowledge as well.

It seems as though a certain ungrateful foul mouthed someone is totally obsessed with me, and is unable to leave things alone...Haaa. Sadly, I suppose his paranoiac witch hunts and false unsubstantiated public accusations of people within the R&P community are pretty much the norm here now. We've come to expect this type of behavior from him...so what else is new.
Though I must say...I'm flattered to be mentioned at a question such as this...even if his answer does happen to be that of an unsubstantiated, contradictory, hypocritical, paranoiac, bi-polar Jack Daniels induced nature...Lol.

BQ: Yes I'm familiar with your bands, as I've always been a huge 80's/90's thrash fanatic.
I would have to say that 'Living Death' would be my favorite of the bands you've listed. You should check out another cool German band 'Mekong Delta' (if you haven't already)...as they featured one time 'Living Death' guitarist Reiner Kelch also.

BQ2: Here's a few lesser known bands from the 70's...

* Edit - Migh:
I appreciate your point of view, and have nothing but respect for you. I only offer my words (see 2nd paragraph above) as a form of defense...which is the case 100% of the time with this person. I would not have mentioned anything at all, had he not trashed me in the first place within his answer (also the case 100% of the time)...as "infantile" as that might seem to some...so be it :)
It seems as though he takes every opportunity available in R&P to spew his unsubstantiated BS...The fact that his entire derogatory answer is based solely on ME speaks volumes.

Edit - Migh:
Your welcome...but there's really nothing to be "sorted out". Like I said...it's quite simple; Don't trash/spread lies about me continuously throughout R&P...and I won't feel the need to defend myself. If he's able to comply with this simple request, then there wouldn't be any problems. Plain and simple.
Cheers!

Edit - Darth:
I haven't cloned anyone. Like I said...you are always the first person to sling mud, while fabricating lies about others. I only react to your moronic paranoiac hearsay based unfounded accusations (multiple accounts...cloning people, etc etc etc), of which I am not guilty. Rckets and Shred are my friends/contacts, and I communicate with them quite regularly. Why on earth would I do such a thing as clone them...or anyone else for that matter?
As for Fonzie? Our entire communication between one another is based solely on two emails sent well over a year ago. He sent one to me...and I replied once to him. That's where it ended. So your accusations of me harassing these people are flat out lies. They know this, I know this, as do many other persons within this community. You are the only person that seems to be confused here, while pathetically grasping at straws in a last ditched attempt to salvage something...what that might be, we'll never know. Perhaps it's a lame attempt on your part to mislead people into thinking what you say is true? You really need to take a break from this place. This much is obvious.

And just how have I "proven to the world that I have 10 accounts"? That's ludicrous dude. The fact that you've earned 13,000 points in a little over 3 months says it all...Obsessive multi account point gamer?...Lol. Any fool can see that. Unbelievable...and very very sad indeed.
For the record...I have 3 accounts (just like you did 1 year ago...though you may have more by now). One of them is a Smiley backup account:
answers.yahoo.com/my/profile;_ylt…
...and the other is also for backup purposes (which I never use)...
Of my three accounts, one of them is level 1. So with that said, I'm only able to give Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down with two of my accounts, though I never resort to using more than one thumb per question. I'm not the one who is obsessed with the whole TU/TD game. They mean nothing to me. But we've all seen the way you react to TD's in the past, with your finger pointing edits..."Thanks a lot for the 12 TD's Shred"...or "Way to go with proving to the world you have 10 accounts Smiley"...Lol.
So nice job of proving to the world that you are a paranoid, jealous, lying, scorned fool....with no life whatsoever.

Hi Beatle Fanatic...thanks so much for the kind words :)
How's this for a college application essay?
It is said that how people choose their friends reflects who they are as a person. But does it necessarily mean you friends mirror everything that you are? While some of my friends are, in many ways, like myself, we are not identical in regards to the characteristics that personally define who I am. Through a recent experience, with time and patience, I realized how a person who is different from me, can be so valuable, thus emphasizing who I am through our differences. Never would I have imagined or even considered becoming the best of friends with someone from Europe, whose life is contrary from mine. My misconception of friendship was then proven.

Growing up as guyren, it is common to evaluate friendship based on age, gender, and mutual interests. During my guyhood years, I was known to be a tomboy who enjoyed playing basketball at a public park behind my middle school, with male friends who were, of course, my age. My lack of pre-teen female interests prevented me from making friends with girls mainly because I felt different. I was more interested in sports, videogames, and action figures; all of which I enjoyed playing with my twin brother as well. However, this phase slowly faded, as I grew older. In my mid to late teen years, I became more open minded towards art and music, while meeting new people in high school.

In my sophomore year during high school, I met a Dutch friend, Eveline. Considering the fact that she’s from another country, there were a few differences between her and I that were quite obvious. While I’m the complete opposite, she’s very direct, open to different cultures, adventurous, very social and friendly, yet reserved. In her country it’s legal to go to discotheques, clubs, and bars, at the age of eighteen. As far as I know, these are places she normally went to for her enjoyment along with some friends. On the other hand, I was more of a stay-at-home, shy, quiet girl. When we spoke, I sometimes found it difficult to understand her since her English wasn’t clear enough. But despite our differences and miscommunication, that was never and excuse to distant myself from her. I found her kind, accepting personality to be very trustworthy and considerate.

During an emotional phase I went through, at the age of fifteen, I faced many insecurities resulting in low self esteem and lack of confidence. While I struggled trying to find the positive aspects of my personality, Eveline respectfully supported me through my problems. It was then when I realized our friendship was worth pursuing. As we began to speak each day, not only did I get to know more about her (which I thought was very interesting), but I was able to further express myself. I found a hidden talent/interest in art that helped me express myself and through learning how to play the piano as well. With this being said, I was able to gain back my self confidence and self esteem. Eveline helped me manage and was always there to guide me in the right direction.

So, I asked myself “How is she a reflection of me if we’re both different from the outside?” What I learned from our friendship is that she has certain personality traits that I don’t have and vice versa. Therefore, she is a reflection of me because she is a reflection of what I might be missing in myself. Not necessarily missing as in a needy, more like she is opposite which reveals who I am. Though we sometimes share common interests, our unique individual character is what highlights our friendship. In a friendship, you don’t necessarily need to be identical to your friend to find out who you are. There shouldn’t be any set standards or limitations when finding a friend because opposites do attract as well.

What would you think of me if you met me?
I'm 17 and leaving school this year, going to study English and Creative Writing at university in the autumn. I'm a Christian. I love to write stories and read books, I also really like playing music and singing, travelling, art, and the like, and I'm into anime. I've never been to a 'teen party' never had a boyfriend, never drank more than a glass of wine, never smoked, I hate drugs, and I like to stand up for things and help people. I have only two friends and people never want to talk to me and it makes me sad because I try to be a good person, but I dont like going out getting drunk and wasting my life away. What is your opinion?
YOU are ME except the part of playing music and singing "wich i stopped liking it recently"
you are very smart and responsible for teenagers in our ages, i would really like you :D
keep up the good work and do good in your life.

and :::: lol you're the "DORK" here Don Cheedle, the purbose of life is not to have fun all around, the purpose of life is to build better nation.

If I were you, I'd ask a teacher of yours to proofread it for you. Where is the prompt question for this essay? You need something that is compelling. Anyone can talk about how you don't need to be identical to your friend in order to relate to them. What unique trait of your friendship with this girl is so different from your other friendships? What makes this relationship so enduring? Is there a specific time in your life where she has helped you? If so, what was it? You mention that you never imagined that you'd be friends with people from another culture. Was there a stereotype you had believed in that was disproven after you befriended her? Never be vague when it comes to writing.
Need help matching a boy for me, any suggestions?
I'm a teen gal with a love for the outdoors & ALL of its animals (snakes, spiders, so forth included). I have shoulder-length, honey-blond hair (like my avator), sea-blue eyes, and a strong build. My favorite sport to play is Tae-Kwon-Do, but I'm willing to watch others play other sports. I laugh very easily, but I also get startled by sudden things(that's a pet peeve if anything). I am really shy and also into art. I just want a guy to hang out and be myself with, no interest in sex what-so-ever. So far, no guy has met my genre, and I want to know what type of guy suits me, so I have at least a start when it comes to it.
A guy that interests you, he doesn't have to like what you like or do what you do. He just to have that little spark in his eyes for you and that should be enough.
Have you ever met anyone who was very pretty as a guy, but turned out to be ugly when they grew up?
I have.

Two people. Two girls.

One was a very attractive and ladylike 12 year old who I thought was destined to be a movie star. Well, sort of saying, since she used to say she wanted to be a journalist or a flight-attendant, and it's not easy to have a career in the Arts...
But to my surprise, her attractiveness started to fade away when she became a teenager, and she was completely plain from her late teens onwards... (It is even more surprising that she wore more ladylike accessories at age 12 than when she was actually grown up...)

Also, my sister-in-law's niece was adorable when I first knew her, at age 8.
She looked like a real doll, and I was convinced that she was probably going to become more beautiful as she grew older.
She turns 18 in October, and surprisingly enough, she seems to have lost all her looks, ever since she became a teenager...

So, it seems there aren't only stories of ugly ducklings who turn into swans.
There are also the opposite...
Lots of people!
